MIRAS ELECTRONICAS SIG SAUER

Los orígenes de la compañía SIG se encuentran en la fábrica de vagones suiza creada en 1853 por Friedrich Peyer im Hof, Heinrich Moser y Conrad Neher. Luego de ganar una competencia del Ministerio Federal de Defensa suizo, obtuvo un contrato para producir 30.000 mosquetes, y cambiaron el nombre a Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (SIG), en español: "Compañía Industrial Suiza".​ En el año 2017 el ejército de Estados Unidos, a través de un concurso de selección eligió la pistola SIG Sauer M17 para sustituir a la ya veterana con más de 30 años de servicio la M9 del fabricante Beretta. La pistola Sig Sauer M17 es una plataforma basada en la SIG Sauer P320 y destaca por su diseño modular en el que la unidad de disparo es fácilmente extraíble por separado del cuerpo o armazón del arma. En el año 2022 el ejército de Estados Unidos, seleccionó a la compañía Sig Sauer para suministrarles fusiles de asalto y ametralladoras dentro del programa Sistema de Armas de Próxima Generación (NGWS, Next Generation Weapon System). Los actuales fusiles de asalto tipo M4 serán sustituidos por el nuevo rifle XM5, además se incorpora el rifle automático XM250 en sustitución de la ametralladora ligera M249 SAW. Ambos disparan un cartucho híbrido en caja de 6,8 x 51 mm que cuenta con una cabeza de acero y una caja de latón, en lugar del habitual cartucho OTAN 5,56x45mm.

Nel 2017 l'US Army Unidos, attraverso un concorso di selezione, ha scelto la pistola SIG Sauer M17 per sostituire la già veterana con oltre 30 anni di servizio, la M9 del produttore Beretta. La pistola Sig Sauer M17 è una piattaforma basata sulla SIG Sauer P320 e si distingue per il suo design modulare in cui l'unità di sparo è facilmente rimovibile separatamente dal corpo o dal telaio dell'arma. Nel 2022, l'esercito degli Stati Uniti ha selezionato la società Sig Sauer per la fornitura di fucili d'assalto e mitragliatrici nell'ambito del programma Next Generation Weapon System (NGWS). Gli attuali fucili d'assalto M4 saranno sostituiti dal nuovo fucile XM5 e il fucile automatico XM250 verrà aggiunto per sostituire la mitragliatrice leggera M249 SAW. Entrambi sparano una cartuccia ibrida scatolata da 6,8 x 51 mm che ha una testa in acciaio e una cassa in ottone, invece della solita cartuccia NATO da 5,56 x 45 mm.

In 2022, the United States Army selected the Sig Sauer company to supply assault rifles and machine guns within the Next Generation Weapon System (NGWS) program. The current M4 assault rifles will be replaced by the new XM5 rifle, and the XM250 automatic rifle will be added to replace the M249 SAW light machine gun. Both fire a 6.8 x 51 mm boxed hybrid cartridge that has a steel head and a brass case, instead of the usual 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge.
